Germany is, in my opinion, an underrated country. Most tourists though only travel to Berlin, Munich and other highlights, whereas smaller destinations are for the most part completely off the radar. I want to show that for your next trip to my home country there is more to see than what Instagram shows you. If you have any questions or want an opinion on your itinerary, feel free to contact me.
This country page, compared to the other ones is less focused on the topic of budget exploration but rather wants to show itineraries for seeing the country in alternative ways, as I of course do not backpack my own country (I mean I could but Germany is expensive in terms of accommodation and not too mind blowing to see because I already grew up here). Therefore blog posts here are about my bikepacking trips, that I did around my home town of Dresden in the east of Germany. If you do not want to do the exact itinerary yourself, you can also use these blog posts as inspiration for day trip ideas. My guide about bikepacking East Germany for example is perfect for inspiration for trips from Berlin, as many of the stops listed there are reachable quite fast by public transportation.
